At the Formula 1 Pirelli Italian Grand Prix, LILT offers the public sunscreen dispensers

Engines on: Formula 1 returns to the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, recently reopened following modernization work. From August 29 to September 1, the “Temple of Speed”, one of the oldest and most prestigious circuits in the world, will host the 95th edition of the Italian Grand Prix. New asphalt, a more performing track and new pedestrian paths are just some of the new features that await drivers and fans.

One of the most unexpected is certainly the presence of 10 sunscreen dispensers that LILT and the Autodromo have decided to place inside the circuit.

At the dispensers, which work autonomously thanks to a built-in solar panel, the public will be able to stock up on SPF 50 sunscreen, dispensed automatically and hygienically. The dispensers will be periodically refilled with product to allow anyone to make a “pit stop” for protection at any time. The sunscreen inside the dispensers is approved by a LILT dermatologist and protects against solar rays, which are a risk factor for the development of skin cancer and premature aging of the dermis.

“Today we are stepping on the accelerator together with the Autodromo Nazionale Monza to raise awareness among more and more people on the importance of preventing skin cancer, and in particular melanoma, the third most frequent tumor in the under 50s – comments Marco Alloisio , president of LILT Milano Monza Brianza – We thank the Autodromo for allowing us to amplify our message, prevention is living, during the days of the Formula 1 Grand Prix. Ten clearly visible dispensers full of useful information will invite fans to protect themselves during a time of significant and prolonged exposure to solar rays. This is our mission”.

“Being alongside LILT is a source of pride for us – said Giuseppe Redaelli , president of SIAS Autodromo Nazionale Monza – Making sunscreen available to fans is not only a very useful service, but also a means of spreading and understanding a message that must lead to greater awareness. The Autodromo Nazionale Monza, hosting hundreds of thousands of fans, must be a megaphone for initiatives such as the one promoted in collaboration with LILT, promoting behaviors that are increasingly attentive to safeguarding health”.

According to 2023 data from Aiom (Italian Association of Medical Oncology), exposure to UV rays is the most important environmental risk factor for skin cancer, also known as melanoma. This tumor occurs at a young age and in Italy it is the third most frequent in both sexes under the age of 50.

LILT and the Autodromo have chosen to install the dispensers because they are aware of the importance of safety, not only for the drivers and fans in the stands, but also for their skin. Even if the sun is hidden by clouds, it is necessary to apply the cream that should be spread on the body (including hands, feet, ears and scalp) every hour and a half or every two hours. Other useful tips for protection are reported on the dispensers together with the UV index, or the level of solar ultraviolet radiation, of the place where they are installed. T
