Audi wins the title of the Italian GT Endurance Championship in Monza

The Agostini-Ferrari-Drudi trio triumphs in the Temple of Speed in an uncertain race until the last lap. Victories for Milan in the Clio Cup Europe and Cerqui in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italy

The titles of three series were decided during the race weekend at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza . The drivers of the Italian Gran Turismo Endurance Championship, of the Clio Cup Europe and of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia competed for the victory in their respective competitions, giving emotions to the spectators at the Autodrome and sitting on the sofa at home who followed the ACI Racing Weekend.

The results of the ACI Racing Weekend

The trio made up of Riccardo Agostini, Lorenzo Ferrari and Mattia Drudi gives Audi Sport Italia the victory of the Italian GT Endurance Championship . Great protagonist of the day is Drudi, who makes an extraordinary comeback on Lamborghini and Ferrari, direct rivals for the title, recovering from fourth place and closing the race on the top step of the podium. After a difficult start and a first part of endurance, with the Audi R8 LMS that had never pushed beyond the third position, Drudi became the protagonist of a series of qualifying laps in the wet, first overtaking Daniel's Ferrari 488 EVO Zampieri and Stefano Gai (Scuderia Baldini 27) and then taking advantage of the pit stop of the race leaders Andrea Amici, Alberto Di Folco and Stuart Middleton (Imperiale Racing), who finished second. Third place for the Ferrari # 27 of the Zampieri-Gai duo.

Triplet for the French team R-Ace GP on the podium of race-1 of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine . Winning the race, after taking pole position, is Hadrien David, followed by teammates Isack Hadjar and Zane Maloney, who have gained four positions each. This result is worth the victory in the constructors' ranking for the transalpine team, which arrived in the Tempio with a disadvantage on the Art Grand Prix. Hadjar instead wins race-2 ahead of Paul Aron (Prema Powerteam) and Hadrien.

Oliver Bearman (Van Amersfoort Racing) has won all three races of the Italian F4 Championship Powered by Abarth . The British driver, who arrived in Monza with the title already in his pocket, has placed behind his rivals in all the appointments in the Temple of Speed. In race-1 Bearman started a long battle with the very young Lorenzo Patrese, son of the former Formula 1 driver Riccardo, who saw his race ruined in the final by a contact with the Englishman himself. Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Prema Powerteam) and Joshua Dürksen (Muecke Motorsport) therefore finished behind Bearman. Bearman also triumphs in the wet in race-2 on Saturday afternoon, after a great comeback from seventh place. Second ends the other son of art of the championship, Sebastian Montoya of Prema Powerteam. Third place for Antonelli, who is confirmed in the same position also in race-3, behind Bearman and his Russian teammate Kiril Smal, who got on the second step of the podium.

Six Porsche Carrera Cup Italia drivers fought for the overall title in the last round of the season. The two races held on the Brianza asphalt were affected by the rain and gave a great show, with a close fight until the last corner. In the end it was Alberto Cerqui of the Q8 Hi Perform team, already leader of the standings before the Monza event, who won third place on Saturday afternoon and victory on Sunday morning. It was not enough for the second in the general classification, Alessandro Giardelli (Dinamic Motorsport), the triumph in race-1 ahead of Gianmarco Quaresmini (Tsunami RT) and Cerqui. In the second round, Cerqui won over Marzio Moretti (Bonaldi Motorsport) and Benedetto Strignano (AB Racing).

47 Clio Cup Europe drivers took to the track in the two races between the curbs of the Temple of Speed, honoring the last seasonal round of the series with battles. Nicolas Milan (Milan Competition) crossed the line first for the ninth time this year, winning race-1 on Saturday afternoon thanks to the penalty imposed on the virtual winner Felice Jelmini (PMA Motorsport), relegated to third position. On the second step of the podium went David Pouget (GPA Racing). Jelmini took his revenge in race-2, detaching the group from the start and closing with three seconds ahead of Milan and four over Filippo Berto (Oregon Team). With these results, Milan wins the overall standings and that of group D, while Marc Guillot, also of the Milan Competition team, those of groups A and C.

Next appointment: FORUM8 ACI Rally Monza

Time for verdicts for the ACI Sport championships in Monza

Between 29 and 31 October, the Autodromo Nazionale Monza will host the second round of the ACI Racing Weekend, for a total of 10 races. All the series of the Italian championships will take to the track: Gran Turismo Endurance, Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth, Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, Clio Cup Europe and Porsche Carrera Cup Italia.

There are ten races scheduled for the second weekend of the ACI Racing Weekend at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. The event, which closes the racing season of the Italian championships after the opening again in the Temple of Speed last May, includes the races of five different series: Italian Gran Turismo Endurance Championship, Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth, Clio Cup Europe and Porsche Carrera Cup Italia.

After the collective tests scheduled for today, all the series will run two races in Monza between Friday 29 October and Sunday 31 October, with the exception of the Italian Gran Turismo Endurance Championship, whose drivers will compete in a single 3-hour race on Sunday afternoon, and the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth, which has three 30-minute races + one lap between curbs of the Temple of Speed.

The fourth and final round of the Italian Gran Turismo Endurance Championship - a series of only GT3s - will be decisive for the assignment of the drivers' title. The Audi R8 (Audi Sport Italia) driven by Mattia Drudi, Lorenzo Ferrari and Riccardo Agostini has a lead of 3 points (40 to 37) over the Ferrari 488 EVO (Scuderia Baldini 27) of Daniel Zampieri and Stefano Gai and of 5 lengths on the Lamborghini Huracan driven by Andrea Amici, Alberto Maria Di Folco and Stuart Middleton (Imperiale Racing). Mathematically, Carrie Schreiner is still in the running for the title on the other Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo, but there are 14 points to recover from the top. The final race will start on Sunday at 13.45.

Everything has already been decided in the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth , the Tatuus T014 Abarth single-make championship (F.4, F.5 and F.6), which will open the racing program of the Brianza weekend. Bearman Oliver has already won the series, and his team (Van Amersfoort Racing) has already taken the constructors' title. In the last race of the season, the 35 drivers entered will therefore race only for glory.

The same goes for the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine , in which the Swiss Grégoire Saucy already has the victory in his pocket with his 93 points advantage over his rivals. The fight is heated both for the second place in the world championship, with five drivers still mathematically in the running, and for the constructors' title, whose ranking currently sees the Art Grand Prix team ahead by just one length over R-Ace GP. They all race in Formula Alpine cars.

The last two championships to be held over the Monza weekend are the Clio Cup Europe and the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia . Among the Clio, it is a fight between teammates for the victory in the series. Arriving at the last race of the year, the French Marc Guillot and Anthony Jurado of the Milan Competition team are separated by 28 points, with the first in the lead.

In the Porsche single-make championship, however, there are still several drivers in the running for the overall title: Alberto Cerqui of Team Q8 HI Perform is first at the moment, with Alessandro Giardelli (Dinamic Motorsport - Centro Posche Bologna) just 6 points behind and Gianmarco Quaresmini (Tsunami RT - Porsche Center Brescia) of 22. Leonardo Caglioni, Marzio Moretti and Enrico Fulgenzi also have a faint hope of victory.

The event will be open to the public for the day of Sunday 31 October and spectators will be able to sit on four stands along the straight and the Ascari variant. Admission is free upon reservation of the seat on www.monzanet.it , while you will pay for the parking, with a cost of 15 euros for each car and 5 euros for each motorcycle. The parking ticket can only be purchased on the day of the event at the entrance to Vedano. All the live streams of the weekend and the related results are available on the website www.monzanet.it and www.acisport.it . (fm)

I light up less: 3000 new trees for the Monza Park

For the Autodromo Nazionale Monza , being inside a prestigious and historic park like the one that has welcomed it since its foundation is a source of great pride. This is why, over the years, very particular attention has been paid to the relationship between the track and the nature that surrounds it, in search of a complex but fascinating balance. An example of this is the planting of over 3000 plants inside the Monza Park, created by the National Autodrome. With this initiative, the Temple of Speed also took part in M’illumino di meno 2020 , the day of energy saving and sustainable lifestyles, promoted by the radio program Caterpillar of Rai Radio2 .

Management of trees and safety of the racetrack

An initial intervention (over 500 plants) was used to compensate, with a one-to-one ratio, the previous cutting of a few hundred trees located in the green areas of the Monza Park which are the responsibility of the Temple of Speed. The removal of the plants , which took place in recent years, has in fact made it possible to improve the safety of the areas of the Autodrome in which risk situations have been detected. The interventions involved both trees in precarious conditions, present within transit and parking areas for people and vehicles, and trees crashed by the wind on the occasion of the violent accidents that characterized the last summer seasons.

Obviously, the cutting works concerning the risk situations were preventive authorized by the competent bodies : the Lambro Valley Regional Park, the Villa Reale and Monza Park Consortium, the Superintendence of Fine Arts and Landscape of Milan and for the provinces of Como, Lecco, Monza and Brianza, Pavia, Sondrio and Varese.

The care of the green in the Temple of Speed

Subsequently, as part of the maintenance and enhancement of the park’s green spaces by the Monza National Circuit, another 2,400 plants were planted . These are forest seedlings of certified origin, belonging to the flora of the Park and with seeds belonging to the Lombard regional genetic heritage. This means that they are suitable for planting in wooded or reforested portions of the park, because they are able to develop appropriately to the context and specific stationary conditions.

Furthermore, in compliance with the provisions of the Valle del Lambro Regional Park, the tree plants planted will belong to species considered ecologically consistent with the station: English oak (Quercus robur), hornbeam, oak, field maple, ash, cherry, elm.

Trees for the Future

Joining M’illumino di meno was also an opportunity to announce another project: a donation of tens of thousands of trees to Africa, during the competition Hankook 12H Monza , thanks to Trees for the Future . Pietro Benvenuti , General Manager of the Autodrome explained that “the competition is organized by Creventic , which counts attention to the environment among its corporate values, just like the Autodromo Nazionale Monza; for each lap completed by a car in the race, during the 12 hours, a tree will be donated to an African farmer ”.

The One lap = one tree initiative was created in collaboration with the non-profit organization Trees for the Future , which works to improve the livelihoods of farmers in developing countries, revitalizing impoverished cultivation land. The trees planted thanks to the Hankook 12H Monza, are used to transform some mono-crops into forest gardens that allow African farmers to grow products of the land every month of the year to be sold for the sustenance of the local community.

Ole Dörlemann , Event Manager at Creventic, explained: “We think it is important to take a more active role in our environmental responsibility and we are proud to be one of the first motorsport organizations to have actively invested to offset its environmental footprint. We are confident that we will be an example for other organizations ”.

The history of the Monza racetrack

The Parabolic curve of the Monza circuit

The curve that precedes the finish straight of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza is one of the most iconic in motorsport and has contributed to making the circuit one of the fastest in the world .

The Parabolic Curve was built in 1955 , taking the place of two hairpin bends paved with porphyry cubes and joined by a short straight line. It took its name from the design and the trajectory it described: a rising arc line, similar to a parabolic arc.

After passing the narrowest entrance that follows the straight opposite to the starting one, the drivers can go through the final part of the curve in full acceleration , sliding outwards and taking the straight to the finish line at full speed.

Autodromo Nazionale Monza launches its first NFT and inaugurates a token marketplace for fans

Autodromo Nazionale Monza is the first circuit in the world to market NFT (non-fungible-token), digital certificates of authenticity regulated with blockchain technology. This was announced today by the General Manager Alessandra Zinno on the occasion of the inauguration of the Rimini 2021 Meeting , where the Temple of Speed is present with an exhibition space until 25 August.

The NFTs of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza at the Rimini Meeting

Autodromo Nazionale Monza has chosen Stargraph as a technical partner for its entry into the world of non-fungible-tokens, an innovative Italian startup operating in the collectibles and blockchain market since 2017, which will make its marketplace available to the Circuit for buying and selling of digital content.

For the launch of the initiative, all fans will be honored with the first NFT of the Circuit : a faithful reproduction of the trophy that is given to the winners of the races of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. There cup digital card , made by Milanese creative designer Miranda Biondi, is the first digital work of the Temple of Speed available on the market and will be sent to all fans who register on the marketplace between 10 and 12 September , the weekend in which the race will take place the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix 2021 .

NFTs can be defined as tools that certify the ownership of a digital asset and that the object (or experience) to which they are associated has their own peculiarity and individuality. Tokens are managed through blockchain technology with a mechanism similar to that used for the exchange of cryptocurrencies. The control system is maintained by thousands of computer terminals which, like a sort of ledger, keep track of all the transactions and changes in ownership of the NFT, without the possibility of falsification.

During the Rimini Meeting , in the space dedicated to the Autodromo Nazionale Monza in the south hall, it will be possible to see the original cup and the first NFT of the circuit entitled “1st Official Monza Circuit NFT”. The staff present will help the public sign up for the Stargraph marketplace to be able to redeem the digital token for free in September.

Innovation and inclusiveness

The production of NFT of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza will not be limited in the future to the creation of digital cards but will also extend to the digitization and sale of physical experiences that users can then enjoy directly within the circuit. For example, participation in an event in the Temple of Speed can be digitized and made unique, providing fans with the opportunity to purchase an exclusive digital memory of the activity, which will remain in their crypto wallet. The goal is, among others, to reward the fan through their passion and enrich their digital portfolio.

Alessandra Zinno , General Manager of Autodromo Nazionale Monza: «We are happy to have entered a world that is new to us but with great potential, in which the greatest sports players are already present. Having finished first compared to all the other racetracks is a source of pride for us. We are working in the right direction, with an eye to the future and sustainability, involving, through the concept of inclusiveness, all those who love motorsport and beyond. The NFT project represents a starting point, this so courageous, to develop other innovative activities that demonstrate how much our company loves to dare and always look beyond ».

Michele Imbimbo , CEO and founder of Stargraph: "The creation and distribution of non-fungible (NFT) and fungible tokens is starting to increasingly penetrate the sports and entertainment industry in general, creating new interesting business opportunities, but above all , new possibilities for involvement and interaction with fans . We are extremely happy to be alongside the Autodromo Nazionale Monza in this exciting new initiative, convinced that this is an important first step towards the full realization of our vision that allows fans to monetize their passion through NFTs and the blockchain " . Tickets for the Formula 1 Heineken Italian Grand Prix 2021 are on sale

Tickets for the 2021 Formula 1 Heineken Grand Prix of Italy are on sale, scheduled at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza from 10 to 12 September. Spectators must have a Green Pass to access the circuit.

Ticket sales for the 2021 Formula 1 Heineken Italian Grand Prix, which will take place at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza on 12 September 2021, begin today. The circuit, during the race weekend (from 10 to 12 September), can accommodate a number of fans reduced by 50% compared to the past and only spectators equipped with European green pass , respecting all the regulations in force relating to Covid-19, including those concerning the rules of distancing , as specified by the decree that we were all waiting for. The event, which marks a partial return to normality for all motorsport fans, after more than a year of activity behind closed doors, takes place exactly one hundred years after the first Italian Grand Prix of 1921 in Montichiari (Brescia ).

Access to the Monza Autodrome and anti Covid-19 rules

Therefore, only those in possession of the green pass will be able to enter the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, as established by the decree-law issued by the Council of Ministers, on the proposal of the President Mario Draghi and the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza. The "passport" will allow the Autodrome to welcome the public for all three days of the weekend, with a number of tickets on sale that will be less than 50 percent of the maximum available capacity. The audience will consist of people vaccinated, cured of Covid-19 or in possession of a negative molecular or antigen test result . Fans can be Italian or come from all countries from which travel to Italy is authorized according to the directives of the Ministry of the Interior.

For holders of the so-called EU digital COVID certificate , seats on a selection of stands and grandstands of the circuit for a single day will be offered for sale online. It will also be possible to book a " weekend ticket " which will allow the spectator to access the circuit on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at a promotional price. In the event that subsequent government measures authorize a greater number of presences on the circuit, the seats assigned at the time of purchase could be modified as a result of a reduction in the distance.

How to buy tickets for the Italian Grand Prix

Tickets can be purchased on the official website of the circuit and from the authorized Ticketone dealer . It will not be possible to buy access to the gates of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza but only in advance through the indicated channels. To access the event it will be necessary to complete a check-in procedure similar to that adopted for air flights which will allow tracking of spectators for the protection of their health.

The definition of the ticket prices for the Formula 1 Heineken Italian Grand Prix 2021 takes into account the reduction in seat capacity imposed by current legislation and the debut of the new Sprint Qualifications on Saturday 11 September from 16:30 to 17 .
